I taught the Gospel Doctrine class in Sunday School for more than 12 years. The experience was deeply rewarding because it enabled me to justify studying the scriptures at great length. (I had to do it in order to magnify my calling! Who could argue with that?) On the other hand, it was also frustrating, because I could not possibly hope to cover everything of interest or importance in just 45 minutes. During my post-doctoral years at the University of Wyoming, the solution was to pass out mimeographed, hand-written notes. Later, in the Gushikawa Branch on Okinawa, I sent them in PDF format by Email the week before class. Now I am a service missionary and I don’t have a class. However, Gospel scholarship in non-English-speaking countries lags far behind that in the U.S., because few scholarly materials are available in other languages. This website is my attempt to make materials that I find interesting available in Japanese and Portuguese, as well as English.

Dou aulas de Doutrina do Evangelho na Escola Dominical há mais de 12 anos. A experiência foi profundamente gratificante porque me permitiu justificar o estudo extensivo das escrituras.
